What are Thespians?

A Thespian troupe is an honor society that recognizes and rewards excellence among the participants in the theatre arts program. In order to become a Thespian, a student must earn ten points, the equivalent of one hundred hours of work, which allows them to be inducted into the International Thespian Society.

FESTIVAL

Our troupe provides many opportunities to experience and get involved in theatre both inside and outside of school. Each year, for instance, Troupe 2332 attends Texas Thespian Festival, held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. This opportunity allows thespians to participate in workshops, see shows, perform, compete, and attend lectures from experienced, working professionals in the theatre world (from Broadway to television!) It's an amazingly beneficial experience for anyone interested in theatre, and each year we are blown away by the range of activities offered. Each member of our troupe who attends is required to participate in at least one competitive event. These include tech challenges to musical solos and everything in between!

THESPIANS OF THE MONTH

Each month, the officers choose a Thespian that they believe embodies the best characteristics of a Thespian and that goes above and beyond for the program.
